The Bachelor of Arts in Arabic is designed to equip students with the knowledge, skills, and character necessary to succeed in a variety of fields that require communication and critical thinking. The program aims to help students develop a deep understanding of the Arabic language and literature and to apply that knowledge in creative and practical ways.

Through rigorous coursework and hands-on experiences, students in the Bachelor of Arts in Arabic will develop their critical thinking, communication fluency, and quantitative fluency skills. In addition to these program-wide learning outcomes, graduates of this major will be able to:

1. Demonstrate a deep understanding of the Arabic language, including its grammar, syntax, and usage, and be able to apply this knowledge in written and oral communication.
2. Analyze and interpret literary texts, including poetry, drama, and prose, from a variety of cultures and historical periods.
3. Understand and analyze the structure and function of language, including phonetics, phonology, morphology, syntax, and semantics.
4. Develop and apply research skills, including the use of inquiry methodologies and data-informed instruction.
5. Understand and appreciate the diversity of cultures and languages, and respect the perspectives of others.
6. Develop and reflect upon personal goals with aspirations for further studies and future careers.
7. Lead a healthy lifestyle with active participation in a variety of activities including arts and sports.
