The Bachelor of Arts in International Relations and Development Studies aims to equip students with the knowledge and skills necessary to understand and analyze complex global issues and to develop practical solutions to challenges related to development, security, and diplomacy. Through engaging in research and dialogue, students will contribute to the ongoing progress of international relations and development. Our graduates are expected to demonstrate proficiency in critical thinking, effective communication, quantitative analysis, and specialized knowledge of global issues. In addition, they will be able to:
1. Develop a nuanced understanding of the diverse perspectives and interests that shape international relations and development.
2. Analyze complex global issues using a multidisciplinary approach that draws on history, political science, economics, and other relevant fields.
3. Apply research skills to gather and analyze data, and to evaluate policy options and their potential impact.
4. Communicate effectively and persuasively in a variety of contexts, including written reports, oral presentations, and diplomatic negotiations.
5. Understand the ethical dimensions of global issues, and be able to navigate the complex ethical challenges that arise in international relations and development work.
6. Develop leadership skills and a commitment to social responsibility, with a focus on promoting sustainable and equitable development, peace, and security.
